Difference between Half Duplex and Full Duplex

Difference between half duplex and full duplex communication channel is as below:

Half Duplex: It is a method of using a communication channel in which a signal can be transmitted in both directions between source and destination, but at a time only in one direction.

Full Duplex: A method of using a communication channel in which a signal can be transmitted simultaneously in both directions between source and destination.

Thus in both modes of communication, signal is transmitted in both directions between source and destination but in half duplex transmission is only in one direction at a time whereas in full duplex transmission is bidirectional all the time.
