How to set audio volume in Mac using shell

Like afplay, Mac OS provides another useful utility to change audio volume using shell script. This utility or command is known as osascript. Earlier, osascript command used to work only with AppleScript but later on this command was made available to be used with any Open Source Architecture Script such as shell. Actually osascript allows to execute any script, not just to change audio volume.
